A 28-year-old man has been arrested for having aided the murder of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) candidate Dan Priyasad in Wellampitiya recently.
The Police said the suspect was arrested near the Meethotamulla bus depot with 5.14 grams of ICE last evening.
Police investigations have revealed that the suspect had conspired and aided in the murder.
Dan Priyasad was shot dead at his relative’s house at the Laksanda Sevana apartment complex in Wellampitiya on Tuesday.
He sustained serious injuries in the incident and succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
Police investigations reveal that two gunmen on a motorcycle had broken into the house and shot Dan Priyasad and fled the area.
Several suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the murder. (Newswire)
