President Anura Kumara Disanayake conducted an inspection tour of Kandy city last night to inspect the “Siri Dalada Vandanawa” and identify issues that have emerged.
According to the President’s Office, the President held an urgent meeting with relevant officials, thereafter, to address issues related to the provision of facilities and sanitation for devotees visiting the “Siri Dalada Vandanawa”.
Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation Minister K.D. Lalkantha, the Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa Nilanga Dela Bandara, Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya, Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, Governor of the Central Province Prof. Sarath Abeykoon, Kandy District Secretary Indika Udawatte and several other officials participated in this meeting.
The Siri Dalada Vandanawa, a special exposition of the Tooth Relic at the Sri Dalada Maligawa, was inaugurated on 18 April and will continue until 27 April. Large crowds have been reported to attend the event, which is being held after a period of 16 years. (Newswire)
