Two Police officers have passed away while on duty at the Siri Dalada Vandanawa underway in Kandy.
According to the Police Media Unit, the officers had died after suffering heart attacks.
The Siri Dalada Vandanawa, a special exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, is underway for the eighth consecutive day today.
The event, which was inaugurated by the President on 18 April, will continue until 27 April.
Large crowds have been reported for the event, being held after 16 years, with the Police and military being deployed for crowd control. (Newswire)
