Exam Chief says Female Students have performed better in A/L

Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara has revealed that a higher percentage of female candidates have qualified for university admission compared to male candidates at the 2024 Advanced Level examinations.

He stated that 64.73% of all candidates who sat for the examinations obtained university entry qualifications.

Among female candidates, 71.93% qualified for university admission, while 60.24% of male candidates achieved university eligibility.

He further highlighted that a similar trend is observed in percentage of students who failed all three subjects, with 13.87% of male candidates and 8.6% of female candidates failing all three subjects. (NewsWire)
