A 49‑year‑old woman has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the 2018 abduction and murder of a retired Army soldier in Narangaspitiya, Kirindiwela.
The CID’s Homicide and Organized Crime Division had launched investigations into the incident reported on 09 September 2018, involving the abduction, killing and disappearance of the soldier.
The Police said acting on information received, officers arrested the suspect at noon yesterday (07) in the Narangaspitiya area under the Kirindiwela Police Division.
The suspect, a resident of Narangaspitiya, Kirindiwela, is identified as the wife of the deceased.
The Criminal Investigation Department is conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
