The Sri Lanka Navy has seized more than 80 kilograms of narcotics during a special operation conducted along the Kusumanthurai beach in Madagal, Jaffna, early Sunday (27).
According to the Navy, the seized packages contained 45.5 kilograms of ICE (crystal methamphetamine) and 35.7 kilograms of heroin.
One suspect was arrested during the operation, while a boat believed to have been used to transport the narcotics was also taken into custody.
The operation was carried out by SLNS Agbo personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command.
