Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath is scheduled to address the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York today (28), where he will deliver Sri Lanka’s national statement.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Minister Herath will deliver the statement in line with the theme of this year’s UN General Assembly session, “Rebuilding Trust, Managing Transformation, A United Nations that Delivers for All.”
During his address, the Foreign Minister is expected to outline Sri Lanka’s position on key international issues and highlight the country’s foreign policy priorities.
Minister Herath is currently in New York, United States, to participate in the UN General Assembly session, having departed Sri Lanka on Saturday (26).
On the sidelines of the General Assembly, the Minister is also scheduled to hold discussions with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, senior United Nations officials and Foreign Ministers of several countries. (Newswire)
