The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning effective until 11.30 p.m. today.
Accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most provinces of Sri Lanka this evening.
Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely at several places in the Western, North-western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces and Galle and Matara Districts.
Heavy showers of about 100 mm can be expected at some places. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
