ESOFT Metro Campus launches Cambridge Authorised Exam Centre

ESOFT Metro Campus celebrated the launch of Cambridge Authorised Exam Centre, featuring esteemed guests representing both ESOFT and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, collaborating together in advancing language education for the advancement of Sri Lankan students.

The distinguished panel featured ESOFT Metro Campus Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Dayan Rajapakse, CEO Nishan Sembacuttiaratchy, COO – Group Business Development Amila Bandara. Representing Cambridge University Press & Assessment were Arun Rajamani, Managing Director for South Asia, and Shafkhaan Faris, Manager (English) for Sri Lanka.

Dr. Dayan Rajapakse addressed the gathering, calling the launch of the Cambridge Authorised Exam Centre as a “historic milestone” for ESOFT, underlining the critical importance of strong communication skills in today’s globalised world.

“Starting today, ESOFT Metro Campus proudly steps forward as a certified Cambridge Authorised Exam Centre, dedicated to helping students, recent school leavers, and English learners nationwide reach new heights in language proficiency. Language proficiency is essential for success in a globalised society, as strong communication skills can elevate a professional’s career and provide access to opportunities worldwide,” he stated.

Supporting this, Arun Rajamani emphasised, “English language skills have a significant impact on employability, as proficiency can double job prospects and open doors to global opportunities. The establishment of this new centre involved a collaborative effort, underscoring ESOFT’s commitment to bridging local educational offerings with international standards.”

The Cambridge Authorised Exam Centre at ESOFT Metro Campus is more than just a place for an examination; it is a gateway to academic and professional growth. English proficiency has become a fundamental skill for success in nearly every field, and Cambridge’s comprehensive framework, based on the globally recognised Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), ensures students develop a well-rounded linguistic capability.

By offering Cambridge qualifications, ESOFT Metro Campus empowers students with credentials that meet international standards, opening doors to academic and career advancements both locally and internationally.

Through this new collaboration, ESOFT will offer learning and examination facilities for a range of Cambridge English programmes, including KET, PET, FCE, C1, and TKT, to students across all 40 ESOFT branches in Sri Lanka. For young learners (YLE) from grades 1 to 5, the Starters, Movers, and Flyers programmes will be available, enabling students from government and semi-government schools to improve their language proficiency.

Currently, KET and PET programmes are planned specifically for ESOFT students, while TKT is designed for teachers. Additionally, schools and language centers throughout Sri Lanka can partner with ESOFT, and any institution can qualify as a Cambridge English preparation center.

 

This launch reflects ESOFT’s ongoing commitment to elevating educational standards in Sri Lanka, providing students with the tools and qualifications needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. With this new centre, ESOFT aims to make a lasting impact on the future of Sri Lankan education, helping students gain the skills and confidence needed to excel globally.
