A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident at a church in Manampitiya last night, police confirmed.
The suspect had opened fire at the Jeewamana Christ Church (ජීවමාන ක්රිස්තු දේවස්ථානය), reportedly due to a personal dispute with the preacher (දේවගැතිවරයා) of the church.
Police said that while a window of the church was damaged in the incident, no injuries were reported.
Further investigations are underway.
