Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena today clarified the government’s reasons for the sacking of Roshan Ranasinghe from his ministerial portfolios of Sports and Irrigation.
Addressing the Parliament today (Nov 28), Prime Minister Gunwardena said that the Cabinet of Ministers must act with discipline and it was the responsibility of the MP taking oaths as a Cabinet Minister to follow that discipline.
He further said that those who do not want to adhere to the government’s policy can leave, or they will be removed or sacked.
“During the Yahapalanaya Government, an MP who proposed a Bill eventually voted against the Bill. Just because this happened in the past, there are some here who think they can do the same. Such actions cannot take place now,” the Prime Minister said. (NewsWire)
