Sri Lanka’s weather experts predict a drop in the rainy conditions experienced in the nation by February or March this year.
Speaking during a television talk show, an official from Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology explained that Sri Lanka was still facing the effects of climatic changes of El Niño.
Based on previous data on climatic changes related to El Niño, the rainy conditions are expected to reduce and end by June or July.
While it is usual for rain to increase in October and September, a reduction in rain has been predicted for February and March after calculating the current effects of El Niño on Sri Lanka, she said.
The Met Department official further said that based on data from both local and international climate agencies, it has been predicted that the rainy conditions will drastically reduce by February or March in Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
