Three teenagers have died in two separate motorcycle accidents reported within the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 am today.
An 18-year-old pillion rider has died after the motorcycle he was travelling on crashed into an electrical post due to the driver being unable to control the speeding vehicle.
The Police stated that the accident had taken place when the motorcycle travelling on Kadawatha Cross Road entered Anderson Road and travelled towards Hill Street.
The injured motorcyclist and pillion rider were admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in Kalubowila after which the pillion rider had succumbed to injuries. The deceased has been identified as a resident of Kawdana Road in Dehiwala.
Meanwhile, two 16-year-old boys have died after the motorcycle they were travelling on crashed onto an electrical post and fell into a ditch in front of the Thambagalla Wewa on the Medagama- Kakkapalliya Road last evening.
The Police stated that the incident had occurred due to the motorcyclist being unable to control the vehicle due to speeding.
The teenagers who were admitted to the Chillaw Hospital succumbed to injuries. They have been identified as residents of Muhunuwatawana and Ruwanwella. (NewsWire)
