The first-ever Media Fest organized by the Sri Lanka-India Media Friendship Association (SLIMFA) was inaugurated today (25) at Taj Samudra, Colombo, by Acting High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, and Minister of Mass Media and Health, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
Held under the theme ‘Navigating the New Media Landscape Together’, the two-day event will focus on trends such as AI in journalism, mobile journalism, media monetisation, disinformation, and content creation.
The Fest features keynotes, panels, and networking sessions, bringing together experts from India and Sri Lanka, including Ms. Palki Sharma (Firstpost), Mr. Siddhant Sibal (WION), Mr. Shailesh Shekhar (India Today), and Mr. L.V. Krishnan (TAM Media Research).
Launched in May 2024, SLIMFA aims to strengthen media ties and foster greater collaboration between the two countries.
