- Weather forecast for Thursday –
Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts. A few showers will occur in the Northern and North-central provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces in the evening or night.
Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces and in the Hambantota district.
- Weather forecast for sea areas-
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Hambantota via Puttalam, Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the island.
Winds will be south-westerly and wind speed will be 25-35 kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 50-60 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Mullaitivu to Puttalam via Kankasanthurai, Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
- Warning for Naval & Fishing communities –
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Mullaitivu to Puttalam via Kankasanthurai, Mannar, and from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be rough at times. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. Naval and fishing communities have been requested to remain vigilant in this regard.
- Landslide warnings:
Landslide warnings issued to the Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Kegalla and Ratnapura have been extended. Amber and Red warnings have been issued in several areas. The public has been requested to be vigilant of landslides and immediately evacuate if they observe signs of landslides.

248,005 persons from 65,450 families in 13 districts have been affected due to the adverse weather conditions experienced in Sri Lanka. 24 individuals are reported dead, 13 people have sustained injuries, and 01 person is reported missing as of June 01.
