The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that it has temporarily suspended the issuing of passports.
The department said the issuing of passports has been suspended at its main office in Battaramulla and all regional offices islandwide.
The suspension is due to a breakdown in its computer system pertaining to the issuance of passports, it said.
The Department of Immigration and Emigration further said that thereby, applications will not be accepted until further notice. (NewsWire)
