Hollywood actor Johnny Depp leads Google’s list of trending people in 2022.

Google released its “2022 Year in Search — Themes and Insights” report on Wednesday.

Depp rose to fame after he won his defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in June. Heard was the third top trending person on Google Search this year.

Google’s 2022 list also showed Hollywood actors Will Smith and Chris Rock in second and fifth ranks.

The report says there was high interest in the Oscars moment when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after the comedian joked about the actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was ranked fourth in the list as U.S. users also expressed interest in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Serbian Tennis player Novak Djokovic, Russian-German con artist Anna Sorokin, the self-described “success coach” Andrew Tate, newly appointed British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Israeli conman Simon Leviev round off the top ten in Google’s list of trending people in 2022. (NewsWire)
