The overseas travel ban that was imposed on State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage has been temporarily lifted for a period of five days.
The travel ban was temporarily lifted after the petition filed against the State Minister was taken up for hearing at the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (15).
Gamage’s lawyer had requested the court to grant relief as his client requires to travel overseas from the 21st to the 23rd of December 2022 and for 3 days from the 28th of December 2022.
Thereby, the Colombo Chief Magistrate announced that the overseas travel ban will be temporarily lifted for a period of 5 days.
Initially, an overseas travel ban was imposed on State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage on 11th November. It was extended until 17th November and later until 15th December 2022.
An overseas travel ban was imposed after a complaint was filed in October pertaining to the passport, birth certificate, and National Identity Card (NIC) of State Minister Diana Gamage.
Investigations are underway by the Criminal Investigations Department into the complaint. (NewsWire)
