The Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment is working to digitalize the labour migration process in Sri Lanka, subject Minister Manusha Nanayakkara said.
The minister said the government is working towards moving the country to a digital economic era.
Thereby, digitalizing the labour migration process will enable Sri Lanka to send skilled workers in a professional manner for overseas employment, he said.

It will also ensure the safety of Sri Lankan migrant workers being sent overseas for employment, he added.
The Foreign Employment Minister also said that following the introduction of a single digital platform all paperwork will be ceased.
He added that the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) will also be able to charge a fixed rate for migrants making the process transparent.
