The government has no choice but to focus on short, mid, and long-term solutions to address the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, which could also mean hard decisions, Minister of Tourism and Lands Harin Fernando said.
Speaking during an interview with British media, BBC, Minister Fernando pointed out that it was essential to rectify what Sri Lanka went through not only over the last 06 months but also over the past few years.
Minister Harin Fernando acknowledged that Sri Lanka had focused on unrequired development projects and had wasted large sums of money in this regard previously.
He revealed that instead, the government should have focused on capitalizing on the tourism sector as Sri Lanka was a tourism destination. (NewsWire)
