Minister of Public Security, Tiran Alles has said that the Government has taken steps to introduce an electronic passport from this year.
He said that an electronic card (chip) containing biodata information will be added to the new passport and this system is being used by most of the countries in the world, Mawbima Newspaper reported.
He further said that to ease the workload of the immigration and emigration department, 54 branches will be established around the country, in addition to the head office and four existing main branches. (NewsWire)
