Independent fact-checking website, Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka has warned the public of fake internet data scams on social media linked to Sri Lanka’s Independence Day celebrations.
In a Twitter message, Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka requested the public to avoid clicking on ‘Free Data’ scam links and installing unverified apps.
The institution also shared details of a fake data scam which had been circulated in view of the upcoming Independence Day.
Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka warned that such fake scams risk the exposure of individuals’ personal information. (NewsWire)
