The bodies of a mother and daughter have been recovered from a house in the Ginigathhena area today.
The Police had been informed by area residents of a foul smell emitting from the house after which the bodies had been found on a bed inside the house.
The deceased have been identified as a 50-year-old woman and her 30-year-old daughter.
Investigations have revealed that the woman’s husband and son are employed in Colombo and that the two women had been residing alone at the house.
The Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
