A 24-year-old man has been arrested for committing financial fraud via an ATM scam in various parts of Sri Lanka.
The Police stated that the suspect, who is a resident of Piliyandala, was arrested with nearly 15 ATM cards in his possession yesterday (10).
Investigations have revealed that the suspect had conducted financial fraud by pretending to assist people with their ATM transactions by obtaining their pin numbers and later handing over a fake ATM card instead of the original ATM card.
The Police stated that over 50 complaints had been received in this regard from various areas such as Piliyandala, Kottawa, Dehiwala, Mirihana and Maharagama, which led to the arrest of the suspect. (NewsWire)
