Police have recovered the body the of 22-year-old woman murdered in Gampola.
Relatives of the girl have reportedly identified the body of the victim, who has been allegedly murdered by a 24-year-old man from the same area, who is a goat herder.
The young woman was reported missing since 7th May after last seen on her way to work. Following police investigations, a suspect who was arrested in connection to the disappearance, confessed last evening (12) to have murdered the girl.
The suspect had confessed to the Police that as the woman had objected to him trying to sexually molest her and threatened to inform her father, he had dragged her into the forest and strangled her to death.
He further revealed that following her death, he had buried her body in a nearby forest area. (NewsWire)
