SriLankan Airlines has issued a clarification with regard to the reports circulating on social media related to the travel of Venerable Ajahn Brahmavamso Maha Thera.
Known to most as Ajahn Brahm, he is the Abbot of the Bodhinyana monastery, in Western Australia and the spiritual director of the Buddhist Society of Western Australia.
Reports were circulated on social media claiming that Sri Lanka’s national carrier had mishandled the travel of Venerable Ajahn Brahm, delaying his travel by nearly 12 hours.
Issuing a clarification, SriLankan Airlines refuted the reports claiming that it is completely false.
The airline further stated that the Venerable Ajahn Brahm was booked on a different airline when the unfortunate delay occurred at Bandaranaike International Airport early last morning (May 31).
SriLankan Airlines said in its statement that, however, it promptly stepped up and went beyond to help Venerable Ajahn Brahm find an alternative flight.
SriLankan Airlines reiterated that the Venerable Thera was not originally booked to travel to Bangkok or any other destination on SriLankan Airlines when the incident occurred. (NewsWire)
