The government has outlined a four-step simplified process to obtain passports via its newly launched online system.
The online passport system was officially launched by President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Homagama Divisional Secretariat yesterday (15).
As per a notice from the Ministry of Public Security and the Department of Immigration and Emigration, the public can obtain passports through the online system in the following manner;
- Visit www.immigration.gov.lk
- Enter the password sent to your personal mobile phone.
- Upload the scanned copies of your original documents.
- Provide your fingerprint at the relevant Divisional Secretariat.
