Two persons were reported dead and 29 others injured after a bus carrying a group of pilgrims crashed into a parked container in the Ambanpola area early this morning.
According to the Police, the accident had occurred near the Padeniya Maha Vidyalaya on the Padeniya – Anuradhapura Road.
Two individuals aged 32 and 71, residents of Thalawa, died in the accident, while 29 others were injured.
Among the injured, six women and a man were admitted to the Ambanpola Hospital, and 18 women and 4 men were admitted to the Galgamuwa Hospital.
