Naufer Maulavi has been identified as the mastermind of the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.
Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera told reporters today that Naufer Maulavi is currently detained in Sri Lanka.
He made the revelation during a special media briefing held in Colombo today.
Over 250 people were killed and over 500 were injured after a number of suicide bombers targeted multiple churches and hotels across Sri Lanka on 21st April, 2019.
The report by the Presidential Commission appointed to probe the attacks has recommended criminal action against former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundera. (NewsWire)
