Nearly 150,000 persons have not yet taken their COVID-19 vaccine in the Colombo district, according to Colombo District Secretary Pradeep Yasaratne.
He said that the information was revealed in a survey conducted in 557 Grama Niladhari divisions of Colombo District.
Total of 99,373 persons between the age 30 to 59 have forgone their vaccine while about 46,600 elderly above 60 have not taken their vaccine in the district.
He said that measures will be taken to identify these unvaccinated adults and direct them to be vaccinated.
Police last week launched an operation to identify the unvaccinated people and take them to vaccination.
Majority of the unvaccinated people above 60 years of age are from Colombo and Kolonnawa divisional secretariat divisions according to the survey. (NewsWire)
