Sri Lanka moves ahead in World Cup Super League points table with 2-1 series win

Sri Lanka beat South Africa as history books tumbles with new records.

Sri Lankan bowlers crushed South Africa to win the 3rd ODI and clinch the series is 2-1. This is the 2nd consecutive series win for Sri Lanka after winning the T20 series against India in July.

It has taken eight years for Sri Lanka to beat South Africa in an ODI series. Last series came in 2013 when Sri lanka beat 4-1 at home.

Also this series is the first time in seven years, Sri Lanka have beaten a side that has ranked in the top 5 in ICC rankings.

With the 2-1 series win Sri Lanka has now moved to the 5th position in the World Cup Super League. But Sri Lanka along with England have played more games compared to other teams.
