Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry is to considering to close three overseas missions in order to cut costs.
According to Foreign Ministry sources Sri Lankan Consulate in Frankfurt & Cyprus, the Embassy in Nigeria are expected to be closed.
Foreign Minister Professor G.L Peiris had confirmed the move to Daily Mirror newspaper.
The cost of maintaining Sri Lankan overseas resident missions according to the Sri Lanka Budget Estimates for 2021 was Rs. 11 billion. (NewsWire)
