A 33-year-old man was found dead at a house in the Walpaluwa area of Wariyapola on Friday (27th) following an alleged altercation. Wariyapola police responded to a report of a suspected thief at the location, but upon arrival, they discovered the individual had already died.
Investigations revealed that the victim, a resident of Aulegama, Sundargama, was allegedly involved in an affair with the suspect’s wife. The 36-year-old homeowner reportedly attacked the victim with a hammer when he visited the house.
Police confirmed that the suspect has been arrested, and a magisterial inquest is scheduled. Wariyapola police are continuing further investigations. (NewsWire)
