1990 Suwa Sariya, Sri Lanka’s free Ambulance Service, has become the first ambulance service in the country to integrate its ambulance and doctor using Mixed Reality and AI Technology.
Previously, this integration was done over the phone. The ‘Connected Ambulance’ is expected to further strengthen Suwa Sariya’s mission to save lives.
Speaking at an event to launch the latest development, the pioneer of the free Ambulance Service, Parliamentarian Harsha de Silva extended his gratitude to the companies, Wavenet and Microsoft for making this technological feat possible.
He further said that Suwa Sariya’s technological integration will first be launched in the Colombo and Jaffna Districts as a pilot project, after which it will be expanded islandwide.
Also addressing the event, Health Minister Ramesh Pathirana vowed to fulfil his promise of providing Rs. 10,000 as a living expenses allowance for Suwa Sariya employees. (NewsWire)
