Sri Lanka’s star cricketer Kusal Mendis has received his visa to travel to the USA to participate in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.
The top-order batsman is expected to leave for the USA in the next few days and join the Sri Lankan squad.
The Sri Lankan national team left for the USA last week, but Kusal Mendis was unable to join due to a delay in obtaining his visa.
The visa was reportedly delayed over extra information required by the US Embassy but had been resolved, with the cricketer receiving his visa.
The national squad has already commenced preparations for the upcoming international cricket tournament.
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup begins on June 01, 2024, and will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies. (Newswire)
