Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe dismissed speculation about his return to Parliament, stating that he had no such intention.
“Someone with a Ferrari license does not spend time with L-Board drivers,” he remarked in response to journalists who questioned him about media reports suggesting his re-entry into Parliament.
Journalists raised this question after citing media reports suggesting that Ranil Wickremesinghe was set to re-enter Parliament. The inquiry was made following a meeting of young lawyers at the Colombo office of the New Democratic Front
Wickremesinghe clarified that he had already informed the UNP executive committee of his decision not to become an L-Board MP.
Reflecting on his tenure, he expressed quiet satisfaction in handling the challenges of leading the country during its economic crisis.
