The National Election Commission has granted approval to resume various programmes, including subsidies for farmers and fishermen and salary hikes for state employees, which were temporarily suspended in view of the presidential election.
Issuing a statement, the Election Commission said that the suspended projects’ promotional activities can be conducted as the Presidential polls have concluded.
The Election Commission had suspended various programmes which could have promoted presidential candidates, such as concessions granted for farmers and fishermen, and salary hikes for state sector employees promised for 2024/2025.
The National Election Commission further requested to refrain from misusing state properties leading up to the upcoming General Election.
The Election Commission also informed that it was necessary to obtain its approval for appointments, promotions, and transfers of state sector employees and officials during this period. (Newswire)
