Sri Lankan actor and former MP Ranjan Ramanayake’s foundation has announced a donation programme to distribute free laptops to students in need.
Accordingly, the laptops will be distributed on Tuesday (July 23) from 09.30 am to 01.00 pm at the Lotus Hall at BMICH in Colombo.
The free laptop donation by The Ranjan Ramanayake Foundation is being conducted with the support of Indu Herath residing in the USA.
According to the Ranjan Ramanayake Foundation, school and university students requiring laptops have been instructed to send their requests via WhatsApp to 077 362 4927.
In 2023, former MP Ranjan Ramanayake conducted a similar laptop donation programme supported by the Sri Lankan community residing in the US, including business persons and ordinary citizens.
At the time, nearly 500 laptops had been donated to the actor during his stay in the USA to perform in musical programmes after which he commenced a special programme in Sri Lanka to distribute free laptops to students in need. (Newswire)
