Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Northwestern provinces and Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Eastern, Uva and North-Central Provinces during the evening or night. Fairly strong winds of about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills and in Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and Hambantota district.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the island during the afternoon or night. The sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil will be rough at times. The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle may be fairly rough at times. The swell wave heights may increase about 2.0m–2.5 m in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kalpitiya to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.

A total of 3432 persons from 1119 families have been affected due to the inclement weather conditions experienced in the Kalutara, Puttalam, Kegalle, and Ratnapura areas. Two persons have been reported dead in Kalutara and two injured in Puttalam due to adverse weather conditions. 51 persons from 16 families have been moved to temporary shelters in the Puttalam district.
