Thai Airways resumes daily flights to Sri Lanka

Thai Airways, the flag carrier airline of Thailand, has resumed operations to Sri Lanka with daily flights between Bangkok (BKK) and Colombo (CMB).

According to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), marking the resumption of operations to Sri Lanka, the first Thai Airways flight arrived at the Katunayake airport this morning. 

A BIA statement said the passengers were warmly welcomed with Sri Lanka Tea Board-sponsored English Tea Shop gift packs, followed by a traditional Kandyan dance performance organised by Sri Lanka Tourism.

Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, Paitoon Mahapannaporn, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited, Eng. Athula Galketiya and other senior officials of the AASL participated in the occasion.
