The two drivers of the racing cars involved in the fatal accident at the recent ‘Fox Hill Super Cross 2024’ motorsports event have been granted bail.
The two drivers, who were remanded while undergoing treatment in hospital, were granted bail by the Bandarawela Magistrate today.
Seven individuals were killed and 23 others were injured after a car hurtled into spectators during the races held in Diyathalawa on Sunday.
Several motorsport drivers also condemned the arrests of the car drivers over the incident, pointing out that preparations for the racetrack and crowd control are the responsibilities of the organizers.
A seven-member investigation panel, led by a Major General, has been appointed to probe the tragic accident.
According to the Sri Lankan Army Spokesman, the investigation aims to uncover the circumstances surrounding the accident. (Newswire)
