Budget 2025: Who Voted for What? One Opposition MP backs Bill

The Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill for the year 2025 was passed in Parliament today (25) by a majority of 109 votes.

The vote on the Second Reading was held around 6:10 PM, with 155 votes cast in favor of the Bill and 46 votes against it.

Four government MPs, including Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath (Overseas), were absent during the vote.

Meanwhile, one opposition MP, Selvam Adaikalanathan of DTNA, voted in favor of the budget. (NewsWire)
