Six Indians who had overstayed violating visa conditions have been apprehended from the Aadiambalama area in Katunayake.
The Police said the suspects were arrested based on a tip-off received by the Katunayake Police on a group of suspicious foreign nationals.
During the raid, along with the six Indian nationals, the Police also found 50 packets of illegally imported cigarettes.
The suspects are aged 25, 26, 33, 38, 39, and 42 years old. The Katunayake Police is conducting investigations. (Newswire)
