Sri Lankan law enforcement authorities have repatriated wanted criminal Manadalagala Bombugalage Sumith Priyantha from India to Sri Lanka.
The Police said the suspect was wanted for offences such as taking a ransom of Rs. 5 million in Kuruvita, involvement in drug peddling, and possession of a hand grenade in Mirihana.
While court proceedings were underway against the suspect, he had managed to flee to India.
Following the intervention of the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), the wanted criminal was brought back to Sri Lanka via air last night.
The Criminal Investigations Department is set to conduct investigations into the activities of the suspect. (Newswire)
