Former Parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran has questioned President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s actions to bring bus-loads of people from other districts for an event in Jaffna.
In a statement on social media, former MP Sumanthiran said for some strange reason, the President had brought a few thousand people in buses to Jaffna last evening and had addressed them.
Questioning why the President had done so, Sumanthiran pointed out that the President would have faced less travel cost if he had, instead, addressed the people in their own districts.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake addressed a political event of the National People’s Power (NPP) in Jaffna yesterday.
Commenting on the rally, the President had claimed that this was the largest crowd he had ever addressed in Jaffna. (Newswire)
