A passenger transport bus plying from Deniyaya to Colombo met with an accident early this morning (Nov 17).
The private bus is reported to have met with an accident after veering off the road in the Pothupitiya area in Wadduwa.
The bus had crashed into two utility poles and the walls of two houses, eventually stalling after crashing into the gate of one of the houses.
The conductor of the bus who was travelling on the footboard had been admitted to the Panadura Hospital with serious injuries.
The accident is reported to have occurred at 03.40 am, while only a few passengers had been onboard at the time of the accident.
The bus has been seriously damaged, while the Police suspect the accident may have occurred due to speeding. (NewsWire / Pic- Accident1st)
