The Cabinet has granted approval for electricity tariff revisions once in every 03 months.
The government said under the existing guidelines electricity tariff revisions were permitted once every 06 months.
However, taking into consideration the impact on the public due to the system, it was proposed to amend the guidelines to include electricity tariff revisions once every 03 months.
Accordingly, the joint proposal submitted by President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has received Cabinet approval.
