President Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Northern Province Chief Minister C.V Wigneswaran have engaged in a discussion during the President’s visit to Jaffna on Saturday (May 25).
According to media reports, the discussion had taken place at Parliamentarian C.V Wigneswaran’s residence in Nallur.
Revealing details of the meeting, MP Wigneswaran said the President had made a courtesy call on him and that it was not for any political purpose.
He further said that during the meeting, the President had briefed him on the measures being taken to improve Sri Lanka’s economy and about the anticipated Presidential Election.
The discussions had also focussed on the ongoing development in the Northern Province and measures being taken to address the concerns of the people of the North. (Newswire)
