The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for heavy rains in the Uva province and Matara, Hambantota, Ampara and Batticaloa districts.
According to the department, the prevailing showery conditions over the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces are likely to continue in the next 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Uva province and the Matara, Hambantota, Ampara and Batticaloa districts.
The weather advisory is effective until 10.30 am on Tuesday (Apr 16). (Newswire)
