A scam involving fake job advertisements using logos of state institutions is circulating on social media, aiming to steal personal data.
The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) reporting a surge in such incidents, urged the public to remain vigilant of such scams.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has issued a warning about a fraudulent job advertisement using its logo, while a similar fake job postings using the SriLankan Airlines logo have also been reported.
CERT Senior Information Security Engineer Charuka Damunupola urged the public not to respond to these fraudulent ads.
He warned that these fake websites often steal personal information such as copies of National Identity Cards, passports, and birth certificates. (Newswire)
